Ken Dykema - Free entropy dimension of DT-operators

Voiculescu's free entropy dimension is a quantity assigned to finite sets of operators in a von Neumann algebra equipped with a trace. It is unknown whether is the same on all generating sets of the von Neumann algebra. We find the free entropy dimension of some unusual (even surprising) generators of the free group factor , namely the DT-operators. The proof depends on an upper-triangularization result of F. Dyson.
