Operator Theory and Operator Algebras in Cork
A Conference in Memory of Gerard J Murphy
University College Cork
7-9 May 2008

Accommodation

There are a number of hotels and guest houses close to UCC, together with some larger hotels in the city centre.

The following are some of the places that can be found on or around Western Road and so are within 5 minutes walk of (the relevant parts of) campus and 10-15 minutes walk into town. All phone numbers given below are local: from abroad add +353 21 to the front; from within Ireland you'll know what to do.

The following are Bed and Breakfast establishments; you'll be filled to bursting point each morning with the traditional Irish breakfast, but they will not (usually) be able to cater for you in the evening. The list is given alphabetically rather than in order of preference, and is not exhaustive.

The following are more traditional hotels, offering all the facilities that this implies (bars, evening meals, etc.) Again, the list is alphabetic, and, coincidentally, in reverse order of distance from campus (i.e. furthest first).

The very cheapest accommodation in striking distance of campus is the very conveniently located branch of the Irish Youth Hostel Association (4543289, web).

Some old favourites of years past have closed their doors since the last operator algebras conference, so booking early is recommended. If you are having difficulty finding availability then please contact me (Stephen) for alternative suggestions.

Some information about upcoming events is compiled by the Conference Office in UCC, and is available here.
