The aim of this Workshop is to bring together leading researchers who are willing to learn and share problems and techniques related to multi-rate modelling and hysteresis in applied problems. This workshop will catalyze cross-disciplinary interactions among workers with interests in mathematical modeling, ranging from fundamental properties of multi-scale systems to developing applications of multi-rate dynamics in physics, chemistry, medicine and engineering. Also, the workshop will foster interactions between the academic community working in mathematical modelling and workers in industrial settings.

This workshop continues the series of the workshops

  1. Relaxation Oscillations and Hysteresis 2002, see http://www.ucc.ie/ucc/depts/physics/ins/roh2002.htm  and
  2. Hysteresis and Multi-Scale Asymptotics 2004, see http://euclid.ucc.ie/hamsa2004.htm
